Human computer interaction

Politis Dionisios

Περιγραφή

The focus of this course is twofold: Primarily, learners become aware of learning theories on the background of user interaction with all types of computer systems (including the Internet), and secondly, they get special training on how to adequately manage programming languages, which create with rapid Prototyping techniques interactive models implementing the metaphors and paradigms for "dialogues" that are demanded by theory.

Μαθησιακοί στόχοι

This course develops current and next-generation Interaction Technologies that allow students from diverse scientific fields to become experts in designing and developing responsive Web applications, Mobile Device Interfaces, and highly-interactive Information Systems. The course demonstrates through educational projects the cognitive, social and affective issues that strengthen the design of such technologies.

Video Lesson that explains in brief what are the key elements for the subject domain of Human Computer Interaction

The first lesson on the subject, examines how the Human Computer Interaction evolvs into Human Machine Contact. We are especially concered about devices that have computing intelligence, such as mobile phones, and the Internet of Things. The interaction metaphor level, paradigm and idiom are examined. Finally, the Word, Syntax and Semantic interaction are determined.

In this lecture we examine the interaction style, which evolved from Command based interfaces to graphical user interfaces, then to WWW hypertext type interfaces and finally arrived at the level of virtual reality modeling level events. Then methodological approaches are presented with specific examples of situations and devices with obvious features of ergonomic design. Finaly the hierarchical task analysis is presented and there is a small introduction to the theory of Cognitive Psychology and its association with human processing model.

In this lecture the anthropocentric design is dealt with a design approach that focuses on the concepts of "better" and more "complex". The anthropocentric design refers to systems development processes that focus exclusively on the needs of users. Particular emphasis is placed on portable devices. programming languages and their ability to model the interaction of their interaction, are concidered especially with the instrumentation of portable devices.

The use of mobile devices on a large scale, with almost total population coverage, promoted the development of interactive applications not only in the level of portability but also in the level of wearability foretotitas (wearable devices). Consequently, apart from the e-Learning, the m-Learning also begun to spread. The use of mobile technologies has obviou advantages in terms of learning, and also opens the way for a massive use of devices that have Brain-Computer Interface elements. The musical interfaces are a special category that exhibits enhanced interactivity such as bionic function and are a typical manifestation of interaction with a particular use of portable instruments.
