"Greek for refugees: Xenios Zeus" includes a welcome guide and support material which will help the learners to get acquainted with the city of Thessalonikι. "Greek for refugees: Xenios Zeus" includes a welcome guide and support material which will help the learners to get acquainted with the city of Thessalonikι. The Welcome Guide is addressed to refugees and migrants in Thessaloniki and in the wider area around the city. The Guide contains information about local markets, means of transportation, services and monuments related to the city’s multicultural history. Authentic photographic material is used to support the information presented in basic Greek.
The Welcome Guide is accompanied by additional Support Material which aims to help users read words and signs, understand and perform short dialogues in Greek, in order to meet everyday communication needs.
The Online Support Material complements and expands the Support Material. It provides multimedia content (video, animation, recordings) and interactive quizzes, which are based on the dialogues and exercises of the Support Material. The Online Support Material provides also additional new texts and quizzes.

Πρόκειται για ένα κείμενο που έχει σκοπό να βοηθήσει τους εκπαιδευτές/εκπαιδεύτριες και διδάσκοντες/ διδάσκουσες της ελληνικής ως δεύτερης/ξένης γλώσσας να σχεδιάσουν και να διδάξουν γλωσσικά μαθήματα σε αλλοδαπούς ενήλικες που επιθυμούν να κατακτήσουν τις βασικές επικοινωνιακές δεξιότητες στην Ελληνική, απαραίτητες στην καθημερινή ζωή (επίπεδο αρχαρίων Α1 και Α2 σύμφωνα με το Κοινό Ευρωπαϊκό Πλαίσιο Αναφοράς για τις γλώσσες του Συμβουλίου της Ευρώπης). Παρέχει, για τον λόγο αυτό, θεωρητικές προτάσεις για την προσέγγιση και τη διδασκαλία του γλωσσικού υλικού, αλλά και παραδείγματα διδασκαλίας του οργανωμένα σε σχέδια μαθημάτων κατάλληλα για τμήματα αρχαρίων (επίπεδο Α).
Τhis support material aims to help teachers of Greek as a second/foreign language to plan and teach language lessons to foreign adults who wish to acquire basic communication skills in modern Greek necessary to everyday life (level A1 and A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe). For this reason it provides theoretical suggestions for designing language materials, but also examples of teaching methods organized in lesson plans suitable for beginners’ classes (level A).
